Default How do I replace an ignition switch?

I have a 96 Honda Civic and don't have a key I need to replace the ignition switch because the dealer said that the car was too old for them to get a new one. Is there a way I can change my ignition switch without the key if so could someone point me in the right direction?

take off the plastics around the steering column, that should expose the entire ignition switch. It wraps around the steering stem and there are two rounded bolts at the top. You will need a chisel to loosen the breakawaybolts and that will separate the ignition switch, disconnect the plug and install the new ignition.

Tell the dealer to go jump in a lake and try Majestic Honda or Hondapartsdeals.com. If it's made by American Honda they can make you a key.
