Icon2 *PTE6262*.... I know its probably one of those questions....

I always hear good things about precision 6262 but can't never find the "specs". I do however understand it is a billet wheel. Now my question is, I'm huge fan of GT-series turbos especially the 35R. but how does 6262 spool faster than 35r and make more power on top end just like 37r???
That's where I got lost.
I believe 35r is 61.xxmm
pte 6262 is 62mm im guessing?
does it make that much of power difference ?
yes its probably newb question but I don't mind getting school'd by ogs LOL. on the serious side, I'd very much appreciate it if I can get some good detailed info. thanks.

I'm guessing its in the design of the compressor wheel. Also the hub (part around the shaft) is smaller allowing for more blade surface area.

The pte billet wheels are a little taller ie like they maintain a lot bigger blade for longer. Another thing to take into consideration is the exhaust wheel size\design. PTE billet stuff makes huge power compared to the older cast wheel stuff. Also depending how much boost you plan on running ball bearing is a must for high boost apps

i personaly had a 6265 on my built h series and if i was only trying to stay in the 600hp range i would have stuck with it.. the 6265 with a .63 hotside i was seeing boost right before 3000 and by 3500 i was at full boost. but i didnt want to max it out being that i bought the smaller hot side so i traded it and some cash for a 6765 with a .96 hot side and now im seeing boost at 5k. i know im not making power like some of these guys on here but if your not running over 35psi or daily driving it i wouldnt buy the ball bearing bc they spool very well and so far they hold up very well also

Ball bearing is definitely the way to go with the PTE billet turbos. Seems like most of the PTE turbos i've seen have issues were the journal bearing versions that people tried to run a lot of boost on. Also, unlike the GT turbos, the center section isn't water cooled which is one less thing to worry about as well.

We made a touch over 800whp with the 62/65 on a b series. It had a t4 .96 a/r Turbonetics divided turbine housing if i remember correctly.

yea i think i head of you guys doing this right after i got rid of mine, but there again you had the .96 t4 housing and i had the .63 t3 housing thats why i went to the 6765 w/ .96 t4

wow i did not know this about the pte turbos and ive been running them for 2 yrs now... thats the whole reason i didnt go with ball bearing is bc i didnt want to deal with water lines while i was tryin to keep the enging bay clean... so i take back saying dont worry about the ball bearing now
