Default Air condition conversion

Does anyone have DIY instructions on how to convert the old A/C system of a 93 civic Dx to the new coolant?

DON'T DO IT!!! YOUR A/C COMPRESSOR WILL BLOW WITHIN A YEAR! The pressure of r134a is too high for the old systems, you're just gonna **** **** up by converting. Stick with r12 and you'll be much happier in the long run. Trust me, I learned the hard way.

By a 95 compressor and condensor. but the o rings from that year also 95.

Then put it in. your lines "should" be ok. thats it. right there.

What year did the newer systems come in? Can you tell by looking at the componets?

Wondering about my 96 Cx....

Thanks!

to switch over to from r12 to the r134a all is required is the new fittings for your lines (high and low side ports). Also you need to change all the o rings in all the line connections, as the pressure is higher..... however your pump will not fail unless it was already on its way out.
the older r12 lines are diff than the r134a lines. They are not compatibale with each other so dont bother trying to install a newer pump and newer lines , keep all your old stuff.
with the exception of what the conversion kit tells you to change.

Good luck!

I learned the HARD WAY, but finally got everythign working right.

Honda started conversions around '94 - not all cars. I'm sure that by '96 everything was r134a.
