Ques about ignition timing.
1992 accord LX auto
I installed a new distributor. This is the procedure I'm using for ignition timing. My questions are after #6 and #8. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
1. Warm the car up to operating temp.
2. Turn the car off.
3. Pull the plug for the flywheel inspection hole.
4. Jump the blue connector to disable the spark advance.
5. Loosen the distributor bolts.
6. hook up the timing light to the #1 spark plug wire and battery.
??My timing light has an advance setting. Do I set it for 0 or 15 degrees??
7. Restart the car.
8. Point the light at the inspection hole, rotate the distributor until I line up the timing mark.
??Should I line up the white mark or the red mark on the flywheel??
9. Retighten the distributor bolts
10. Turn off the car.
11. Pull the blue connector jumper wire.

White is tdc, red is recommended timing. Putting ur light on 15 will put mark on dtc, light on zero will put mark at red.when ur lights set to zero it shows timing, but to find out what timing, turn **** till tdc lines up. Very simple
Thanks for the help.
I set the dial on the light to zero and rotated the distributor until I was lined up with the red mark (15 degrees before TDC).
Then, I turned the dial on the light to 15 degrees and the white mark (TDC) appeared.
The engine is now running alot better and the shaking/vibration has gone away.
