Stock chip in ef with b16 swap problems
Hey guys, i have a 91 civic si with a obd-0 b16, pr3 ecu.
Just a couple of bolt ons. i bought a used chipped pr3. socketed and chip with a modified chip. The burnt chip runs decent, just not the right tune for a stock b16.
i bought a stock chip off of a guy on ebay, stock everything for a obd-0 b16, when i installed it, check engine light came on, ecu light stayed on, and barely could rev it up. the guy sent me another and im having the same issue.
IT runs better on the chip it came with but the stock chip isnt working.
any ideas?
thanks

Are you running both o2 sensors, and is your knock sensor wired up? If not that might be a reason? Also are you throwing any cel??.. if so post them up
I am currently running a pr4 ecu, check engine light only comes on when i cross a certain point in my area (kinda wierd). its 43 which is o2.
The second o2 isnt hooked up. Knock sensor wired up correctly.
When the stock chip is in pr3 ecu, check engine light goes on and the led light on ecu is solid, only on the stock chip.
the custom burned one prob has knock sensor and o2s deleted.
but it runs a lil rich at start up and at 8k rpm, so i dont wana use that one.
its just weird that this chip will work but to stock ones wont.
and this isnt a mugen or spoon chip. stock pr3 chip

gotta have everything hooked up for the CEL to go off. both o2 sensors for sure. i think 43 is fuel delivery...could be the o2 sensor, wiring, fuel filter or fuel pump.
ok, ill hook that 2nd o2 up and give it a try.
the code 43 only pops up on the pr4 ecu, the plug came loose and i reconected it, and reseted the ecu but the code wont erase.
thanks

Figured out the problem, putting in the stock chip in backwards fried the ecu, the seller put sticker on wrong so i ended up putting it in wrong. There goes a nice pr3 ecu!
