I've done some research, but I have a question about the ek hatches.

The only hatches are the CX and the DX right?

Is that true? I want to buy a hatch but I dont want to have to swap everything for power options.

So which is better of the two? I love how ek hatches look, and i can deal with non-vtec but, do they have power steering or theyre just as basic as it getS?

 

the cx is proly a little bit lighter then the dx.
the dx has power steering.
both cx and/or dx are excellent hatches.

 

So if I find a hatch that has power things, that means it was swapped, seeing as they don't come like that?

What about AC/HEAT?

 

Cx=no ac
Dx=ac
Both have heat

 

do either have tachometer?

 

Not all dxs have a/c, mine had no tach either but that's a $15/5 minute fix

 

my cx has power steering and i just bought all the parts to add p/w locks and mirrors

 

The DX has a rear wiper, and bigger hatch spoiler...later models came with the option of the tach

 

DX's don't have ac in the ones from 96-98, the 99-00 type ones do if your referering to them both as EK.

But the cx is the base model of the two. Dx has a few more options, most cx's don't have tach, or passenger airbag, and non painted spoiler thing on the back. only differences i've ever seen.

 

I have a 98 dx and it has AC.

 

So does my wife's 97.

 

yes and i have a 96 cx with power steering. no a/c, no power windows, locks, mirrors, no tach, no rear wiper, no power anything, just basic like heat perfect for a swap. i think it weighs around 2, 200 pounds or something like that.

 

I have a 94 cx and it has A/C, no P/S, no P/B, no P/W or P/L.

 

i have a 00 hatch with no a/c, and according to the vin its a dx

 

Results may vary, a lot of these were "optional"

My 00 dx has a/c and power steering.
