Icon2 HELP PLZ '96 EJ8 Swapped in D16Z6 Problem

Purchased a '96 Civic Ex with the D16Y8 block in it. The block had a spun main bearing so i swapped in a D16Z6 out of a '93 Del Sol. Runs great, a lil high idle rpm 1,200-1,300 but runs fine. Also swapped over the Y8 head and intake onto the Z6 block. Correct me if im wrong but ive researched a bit and im going to order a obd2a-obd1 jumper harness and P28 spec computer. That should take care of any check engine lights. My problem is this...... How am i supposed to pass emissions?? Since they have to plug into the car instead of probin the tailpipe it wont read anything because of the car now being a obd1. Anybody know how i could pass?? Thanx for any help

if you swapped the y8 head over you should be fine..no need to get a p28 or jumper harness

See I figured that to but when I was hooking all my sensors back up I didn't have a place for some of them to plug into. And now my CEL is on and when I took it to get diagnostics ran it acted like it wasn't even plugged up. And for '96 and up they don't probe the tailpipe they just plug it in and run emissions that way. What do y'all think could be my problem?

Are they even going to allow that swap seeing as the engine is older than the chassis? Maybe you should have thought about emissions before you did the swap.

I'd make a phone call if I were you and stop asking strangers in a forum that aren't familiar with emissions laws in your area.

All things that I learned about AFTER the swap. So now I'm scrambling to try and figure out a way to fix this without have to swap motors again. So I'm hoping that a stranger on this forum might know of a way to make it legal. I'm a noob at imports and learning as I go.
