car is surging up5k checked the idle control valve thats fine and checked all the bolts on the mainifold they are tight any ideas where the vacuum leak could be coming from

 

Check real good for a vac leak around the throttle body gasket, around the PCV, and the brake booster hose. Check for a binding/loose throttle cable or binding/loose throttle plate. Put a scan tool on to see if any codes come up and if you have live data feed check throttle position-about 10% at closed throttle and 90% when at WOT.

 

I had the same problem...the coldstart/ air injection valve had cracked and was letting air in all the time.....check that stupid peace of plastic that cost around 90 bucks.

 

just eliminate that stupid piece of plastic lol



Get some soapy water and spray down the enjoy... watch for bubbles!
