just finsihed the install on a 97 GSR with the JRSC and when i go to start the car it just starts revving up so i had to shut it down and my friend who was looking at the motor when i did that said that the bypass valve was moving.

When you shut the car off, the bypass valve should move, also depending upon throttle position.

How high does it rev? Throttle cable on correctly? Charger bolted on tight to manifold?

it revved to like 4 grand and then i shut it off

anyone know of anyone whoo this has happened to or anyone who would be able to fix this prob???

A 1/2" vacuum leak will make the engine idle above 3000rpm during cold start conditions.

Check the blower/manifold seal. That can cause a huge vacuum leak. Check throttle body gasket. It can be installed upside down. Check the oil/vapor recover system, another prime suspect for huge vacuum leaks.

The bypass valve will move by itself if the vacuum leak is big enough to really rev the motor.

2 reasons.
Either severe vacuum leak, check between the intake many and the head or throttle body to the charger.
OR, throttle body is stuck open.
