car idle's at 3000k????
motor is a B18B1 LS
we just recently changed the all the gaskets (head, intake, throttle), cleaned the manifold and idle control valve with carb cleaner and the car still idle's incrediably high. The car has always done this since we bought it and thought it was a gasket. Now we think it needs a new Idle control valve? What else could it be? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Stick you hand over the throttle body inlet when the car is idling. If it does not shut off, you have a vacuum leak. If it does shut off, then look at the IACV and the throttle plate closure. Are you throwing any CELs?

Run that simple test first. Your throttle cable could be too tight, which is holding the throttle plate slightly open. This is spedculation at this point.
