some specific info about a rebuild turbo b16
hello !
i try to rebuild my block that has 4.000 km only brcause a guy installed the blockguard after the hone job and now my cylinders are oval.
i have some questions .
-what is the maximum clearance between piston and wall can i have for a CP pistons 81,5mm 9.0:1 compresion?? in the manual says .089 mm , can i have 0.1 ?
-what piston rings do you prefer for a good seal and a lot of km...?
-i alrerady use .40 - .40 - .43 - .45 mm clearance on the rods bearings with ACL (no race) STD size... How many kilometers every need to change them?
clevete are better?
-if i unistall the blockguard the cylinders will return to their original form?
the engine has about 4000 km.

PWC can depend on how much boost/hp you are going to run. I take everything to a trusted machine shop and let them do their job in helping me choose my PWC. 0.1mm is about .004". That's what I will be running when my motor is back together.
I would use the CP pistons rings with your CP pistons.
Get rid of the block guard. I'm pretty sure the cylinders won't just go back to normal once they are ovaled.

You might get some little rattling sound when you just start the car or when it's cold, but as long as you wait till its warm to get on it, it's not going to hurt anything. You want some clearance so your pistons don't seize. I say take it to a machine shop you trust, have them tell you what they think, and have them hone each cylinder to each specific piston.
