Not all cheap clutches are bad ... heres proof
I bought an XTD stage 3 6 Puck off Ebay when I first got my H22A Swap over 3 YEARS ago and a year later I used the same clutch after turbocharging the H22A and somedays I just beat the crap out of it and this clutch still held up!
Only very recently it started to slip sometimes - not bad for a cheapo clutch and all the hell I put it thru I think...
Thinking about getting a Competition Clutch - Stage 4 or Stage 5.

So... in all of that... you don't include overall mileage driven, power level, or usage. Interesting. :p
XTD's can hold "some" power. But it's also the only clutch I've seen where the input shaft splines of the center section stripped out... go figure.

Honestly I would have not bought the XTD but I was pushed to get it done for some messed up reasons and I was surprised how it held up. Now that I have the time, I am gonna go with Competition Clutches Stage 4. Heard tons of good things about them considering their price.
you got lucky. i wouldn't buy anything cheap that requires that much labor to change out in case of failure. i would buy cheap spark plug wires though.
So you got less than 2 oil changes out of it and you consider that a good clutch, oookay.
I realize you beat on it pretty hard and it's boosted, but 4000 miles is nothing to write home about.

^^not to mention real clutch wear comes from launching on slicks. if you took the car to the track every weekend the 4000 miles would be great. for something driven on the street, its nothing special
4000 miles? That's it? lol Well, I'll be honest, I was definitely expecting at the very least five digits. You should enjoy the Competition Clutch Stage 4. There are some that have problems with them with springs coming out, but there are so many that have great results.
I have 27,000+ miles on the CCS4 sprung 6-puck with 340-380whp, 2nd gear burnouts and 6000-6500 rpm launches on 24.5" slicks and it's still holding up okay. I'm pretty nice to it daily driving, but like someone else said, the launches on slicks plus high horsepower/heat shorten the life span of a clutch.

Ok guys, I'll tell ya the honest truth why I went with XTD and to be honest with you, at the time I got the motor I really planned on gettin an ACT clutch. I lived in at apt. at the time and my so-called "buddy" back then let me use his garage to install the H22A since I was giving him my old DOHC-ZC for dirt cheap. After we got my DOHC-ZC out of my EG, he basically started rushing me to get my car out of his garage so I bought something that seemed ok at the time for what cash I had so I could get my car out of my fake friend's garage. Its not that I planned on cheaping out on something like a clutch.... there you have it lol.
Anyways, I got my own garage now so I am gonna put in a nice clutch
Ya I heard of some people havin trouble with the Comp Clutches - hopefully it will be ok in my setup... just so glad that I have my own garage now and can take my time to do this
