Default 93 si hatch is throwing codes 22, 43, and 9

93 si hatch is throwing codes 22, 43, and 9.
i have a brand new OEM dizzy. and i recently replaced the TPS and MAP.
Code 43 has happened recently

what would cause code 43.
sometimes at a dead stop i can try and give it gas, and it acts like it is still idling. have to turn the car off sometimes, and the rpms and engine rev then.

the CEL comes on randomly while driving. it can be either 5 mins, or 10 mins. and even if i drive regularly with low RPM shifts, it still does the same thing.

I would just like to have a definate, "Here is how to fix it."

Default Re: Throwing codes, need HELP

Replacing parts at random is an expensive way to fix your car. Subscribe to the troubleshooting philosophy. Code 43 may be caused by code 9. Ohm test the CYL sensor for a short or open from the ECU connector.

I also thought the first sentence of your post would make a better thread title - edited.

ah ok thanks. only thing is that i have no idea where the TDC or CYL sensor are.

arent they on the side of the block underneath the Dizzy?

My mistake, I meant CYL sensor. The sensor is inside the distributor, but you don't need to know that right now. Just disconnect the battery and then unplug ECU connector B. First measure the resistance (should be 350-700 Ohms) between ECU connector B terminals B11 and B12. If that's fine, check for a short from terminals B11 and B12 individually (=continuity to body ground).
