Default h22 tranny rebuild?

I have a 90 accord with a jdm h22 with LSD. Need to do a tranny rebuild. How hard is the removal of the tranny? Can it be do at home? Also are there any shops in the Detriot area that can do the work? Need help.

What area of detroit? Did you do the initial swap yourself? Do you plan on taking the car in or just the tranny? I only ask because it's going to be harder to find someone who will do the work due to the fact that it's not stock. If you plan on taking the trans out and take it somewhere they may not what to warranty it because they're doing the install, but you might have more choices this way. If you just want to take the car in and have someone do it all for you, you might what to try Autowerks, they have a garage next to they're shop but I don't know what sort of work they will do or prices. I do believe the owner or co-owner (something like that) has a turboed H22 in his 5th Gen Accord.

The only decent import shop around the detroit area is GodSpeed . Dan is a good guy but pricey.

You can definately take it out yourself and send it out to Level Ten for a ballsy rebuild.

Though a simple replacement may be in order. Whats wrong with it?

There is another shop nopw that I think of it, the owner has a 500+ hp Accord, but I can't remember the name right now.

Where's GodSpeed? I know there's a place near I-75 and Big Beaver(or somewhere around there) that is an import performance shop and I've been told by many people that they're really good but you pay for it. Can't think of the name though...oh well when I think of it I'll let you know.

This would around the same area of that other shop I'm thinking of. I wonder if this is the shop I'm thinking of and just way off on the location. Maybe, I don't know.

no doubt the potential has to be there from the start, and the WRX has mad potential, but that's just my point. everyoe wants their WRX to be halla fast and thus that's where the money is at.

his wagon is for sale by the way.

edit: wait you are talking about Dan right?

I couldn't find the car on the site but I work down the road from the shop and see his Accord in the parking lot every once in a while. I don't know what his HP was but a few months ago he posted pics on AccordRacing.

If I had 26k I'd own a WRX and leave it alone except for a boost.. uhm.. boost.

Howevr I'm poor and own a 1991 Honda Accord, I guess I'll just have to own a 250hp car for 1/4 the money... oh well.

yeah it's a nice set-up. Like I said he posted pics on AccordRacing but they must have reset everything cause the post isn't there now. I believe he said it was all custom but never gave an HP figure or mod list.

not to offend... but you must care because you brought it up. you directly compared your car to a scooby.

confession: I would love to own either car.

I love the WRX too, i thing is one of the car with the most potential out there, but i'm like u guys, don't have the money and have to setle for my accord, which i love, i think everything is based on love what you have and admire other things.i just think that someday i will be able to buy it and enjoy it, but right now, i'm enjoying my 5 gen accord

WOW, That came out a lil corny

We can rebuild your tranny no problem. We are the only shop in the area that do h22a swap in accords. So stop by and talk to andy.. we gladly help you out.
Also answer all you guys questions on hp. DAily drive at 12psi of boost. pushes 335hp to the wheels.
