will my tranny work with an h22?
Hello all. I'm a newbie to Hybrid, but not to import love. I'm very serioulsy
considering an H22 swap into my 1997 Accord Lx. I've currently got the slow, 2.2L
SOHC non-VTEC with the 5-speed tranny. I've ben getting conflicting results about this question.
If I do the swap, do I need to replace my transmission in the
process and do a "complete swap", OR, can I keep my 5-speed and just get the motor, ecu, etc. Unfortunatly, I'm at college, and my car is back home. so I can't find out exactly what my transmission/engine codes are, so I was hoping for
some help.
Thanks guys.

Re: yes it will work.
The f-series engines and H-series engines share the same bolt pattern on the tranny side of the block. The Accord tranny does have wider gear ratios and will effect acceleration.

Re: yes it will work. (Slow_ass_4dr)
the tranny's are interchangable i have a h22 with accord trans it works perfect. its also got 357 whp. but u will be ALOT happier with the vtec one since u are naturally asspirated. the differance is 100 at 5000(vtec) or 100 at 3900(accord) and though they apear to be the same size the vtec one weighs about 40 more pounds
