Default distributor wiring

I am rewiring my distributor bypassing my stock harness. I have 6 of the wires from the ecu. I read that one wire to the ignitor is battery power from ignition. What is the other wire and what does it go to?

also one wire ( not one of the 8 dizzy wires) in the chart I'm using is labeled ground from the ecu for ckp. the chart says to ground to shield... What shield, and where?

seems like bypassing your stock harness is kind of the hard way to get done what you are trying to accomplish. If you have an issue with your harness i would replace it rather than have wires draped over the engine bay and ran seperate from the rest of the engine loom when it's really not necessary. that's just me though.

It is definately the hard way to do it. I don't have money to get a different harness, and can't get a job without a car. On that pinout for the distr plug theres only 7 wires, theres 8 coming from my distrib is that an obd0 plug?

I think it should be the tach wire....a blue one?? from the gauge cluster/tach and there should be 9 wires. Atleast thats what my obd1 dizzy has
