What lights on the front of my 93 Integra can I change to HID (in accordance with CA law)? and where do I get a kit to do this?

Thanks

In accordance with CA law? You already "broke" a law that applies to almost all - if not all - states in the US, by installing an aftermarket HID in a car that didn't come equipped with them from the factory.

With that said, I suppose you could install them in your foglights as well. You don't really need them, though, cuz I'm sure the light coming out of your headlights is completely scattered.

^exactly, installing the "drop-in" HID bulbs is a big no-no on cars with housing originally designed for halogen bulbs.

Yep. But many cars do it, and it's not enforced too hard. If you're HIDs are 8000K or lower, you won't get too much attention unless they're completely aimed incorrectly, or unless you're in a lifted truck or something annoying like that.

Above 8000K, you bring a lot more attention to your car, especially if it's lowered or has a louder than stock exhaust, simply because most cars that come equipped with HIDs don't have purple/pink/deep blue headlights - they're usually pure white with a hint of blue.

90-93 Integra headlights are just about the WORST headlights you can put HID's in, those and 92-95 Civic headlights.

Nah, lifted trucks behind you at a stoplight are definitely the worst

And what if a lot of other cars drove off a bridge?

Just because it isn't enforced too hard doesn't mean that it isn't illegal, or safe.

Dude. HIDs are alright in my book. I've installed about twenty + HID kits. Cops in CA won't pay you any mind whatsoever as long as you don't get over 8ks, like previously stated. Kits are where it's at if you get quality HIDs. Don't go through a distributor as not to get bad quality ballasts. You SHOULD get kits including relays, but most hondas out there don't which isn't quality in my eyes. Get some 55w 6ks. The clarity is great, still looks clean, and little to no law enforcement attention.

You can install whatever lights you want. I did 555w 6k High/low conversion on my outer lights. The high beams ( inner, ran seperately and wired from scratch) are 55w 6ks also, and my fogs are 30k (also wired from scratch). And having projection headlights like on integras magnifies the HIDs. Looks clean.

But on the HIDs go 8k the most in Cali. I have 8k on my gsr right now. Havent got a complaint on them by the cops.
I also see alot of others with 10k.

I never said it was legal. I simply said if your bulbs are at a tolerable temperature (IMO, that's 6000K or lower), then you generally won't get too much attention from the police for that specific mod.

Go get these

Or something like it so the HID can actually project and not blind the people in front of you.

Then get whatever dual beam HID kit that will fit your car. I think your car is the 9006 series (I could be wrong, so do the research yourself).

You shouldn't get much attention then.

Sounds like some stupid crazy blinding glare to me. I would have to flash this **** outta that with my quad high beams if I saw that coming at me.

quoted this from another website it makes sense but do i need it with my 01 gsr headlights? trying to make them look stock and low profile as possible while achieving better visiblity
"you should put HID projectors in there, it will make your light pattern like it supposed to be instead of scattered like it is with a halogen projector."

Yes that is the best way to get HID lighting on your car. HID projector retrofit. Have a look in the Lighting forum.

PIAA Xtreme White. Just as bright, if not brighter than most 8k HID in retrofits, costs less, and ALOT less work. No more P-N-P needed.

PIAA is nothing but a bunch of BS. "110 watts of light from 55 watts" what a crock. Watts is not a measure of light output. I guarantee those put out less light than OEM clear halogen bulbs, unless someone can produce some lumen numbers.
