92 teg ls fuel pump issue please help!!!!!!!
I have a 92 integra ls this car has had a problem with the fuel pump. the car wont prime the pump sometimes. then other times it will prime and work perfectly. and then sometimes like today it will shut off the pump, car stalls and wont prime the pump when i try to start it. ive tried everything i could think of but its still giving me a hard time. ive changed the relay. twice. new fuel pump (tested it) and new fuel filter. could it be a bad connection? if so can somebody show me where it could be? my ecu and wires leading to it are all fine, no signs of corrosion. could it be the wire harness for the pump on top of the tank?
check if the main relay is ok, other than that, u need to change that pump..its really old..i changed mines not to long ago..its a pita, but worth all the headaches
if its a new fuel pump as you stated as well as new relays then i could get out the old multimeter and check how much power you have flowing to the pump and make sure its the correct voltage
well the pump is fine i just changed it a week ago and i tested it. the main relay is new too so i dont think that could be it either. i cant think of what it could be
im no expert but the wrong voltage could easily cause for problems such as these. i believe the correct voltage is 6-7v but someone please correct me if im wrong, if it is not receiving the correct voltage then it would have trouble priming and staying on.

Voltage at pump should be 12V+.
I would check fuel pump ground, PGM-FI Main Relay ground and the 3 powers for the PGM-FI Main Relay, also check ECU/ECM control lead, [green/black] to the PGM-FI Main Relay, [fuel pump relays coil] the ECU/ECM supplies a ground.
Easiest way to test if it is an ECU/ECM problem is to use a jumper lead to supply a ground to the green/black lead/terminal at the PGM-FI Main Relay when pump will not prime.
If the above works, pump runs with "jumper" ground, the problem is the ECU/ECM. you will need to test the IGP1 and 2 inputs to the ECU/ECM, yellow/black, both must have 12V+ on them when ign. switch is in run or start. 94

i think my ecu is bad... i took it out and it smelled really wierd. i'll check voltage on the connections tho. but what are signs of a bad ecu? ive heard a bad ecu can stop the pump while its on and can cause it not to prime
The ECU/ECM is what controls the fuel pump relay, re: my last post.
Try the ground like I suggested, if pump primes when you supply a ground to the green/black lead atthe PGM-FI Main RElay. 94

well i think it is a bad connection somewhere in front. my car wouldnt prime the pump and the cel was on. then i was moving the main relay to see if i felt it click, i touched some cables and the cel blinked off and back on. seems like a wire might be loose or maybe cut. sometimes the relay makes a hiss or whirring noises like its getting too much power, which makes me think its the connections. im gonna check all the wiring and clean connections to the fuse box. the car has an aftermarket alarm on it, can i just remove the connections to it and patch up the wires or should i leave it alone? oh and does anyone know where the ground is to the ecu and main relay?
