it is under the distributor. and has a locking plug.

it tells the ECU how hot the coolant is.

the temprature sensor (smaller sensor) tells the temp gauge in your dash how hot hte engine is. and has a non-clicking plug. it is also under the distributor to the right of hte ECT sensor.

Don't forget about the one tapped into the block into the water jacket.

To the wiring harness, then to the ECU.

ok, lets actually work out what you are asking.

there are THREE engine coolant sensors.

1. controls hte radiator fan - it is the biggest, has 2 pins nad is usually on hte block or thermostat housing;
2. controls hte temprature gauge - it is smallest, has one pin and is usually on hte head;
3. controls nothing - it tells the ECU what hte temprature of the coolant is, and is usually on hte head.

which one are you asking about??????

(to be honest the ONLY sensor that can be refered to as the ECT sensor is no. 3)

yes, im getting a code 6(ECT Sensor)...I know the sensor is fine, and I want to wire it up directly to the ECU. Now i know one wire goes to the ECU, I need to know which wire that is, and where the other wire goes to.

the other wire goes to the ECU of course.

this is the earth (must be at ECU).

( the ECT is wired directly to the ECU, you should be able to check hte "continuity" of this connection with a multi-meter)

what ECU are you running?

I just wanted to straighten this out and ask my question again...this is what I need to know...

...I know there is 2 wires that go to the ECT Sensor plug, I need to know which individual wire goes where? I understand one wire goes to the ECU(which one is that?) and I dont know where the other wire goes...btw its a 90 LS ECU...

both? really? Do you know what the wire locations are on the ECU, for both wires?

no, because i dont know what the exact ECU you have is?!!?

on a PR3 ECU (JDM B16A) it is:

red/white = C6
green/white = C12

does this help?

see here anyways - http://www.geocities.com/b16aprelude/hondaengines.html
