remove air snorkel from throttle body
start car and place finger over hole in the 7 oclock position just inside the throttle body. if no suction--may have defective or clogged IAC
if you have suction put your entire hand over the throttle body to block air flow. the car should die out. If it doesnt check the coolant level. if thats full may have a possible bad FITV.
If it passes all these test. You may have to reset your base idle (and clean IAC and FITV) this is what i had to do and its simple as well...
get vehicle to operating temp and disconnect IACV
Base idle is appox 650 rpm to adjust turn screw at the top of the throttle body til desired rpm is reached.
reconnect iac and turn on high beams and rear defroster...rpm should increase to 750 rpm...let idle for 1 minute
turn blower on high and let idle for 1 munute (sets idle under load)
this should do it!!! hope that helped ya!!!! let us know!!!
