Newb with my first Honda
Hi all. My name is Mike, but I generally go by Sully. I live in central Ohio. I wrench on my own vehicles as much as I can. I just purchased my first Honda and am ready to learn and start wrenching on it. I have 3 vehicles now; a 91 CRX, 99 TA, 04 F-150. The TA is in storage for the winter. I probably won't bring it out until mid-late April. The truck is (was) my daily driver. Now that the price of gas is shooting up, I decided I needed a cheaper dd that is better on gas. The truck gets 13mpg. Now that I have the CRX, the truck will sit in the garage beside my TA. Now, on to the pics...
Up first is my, new to me; dd gas saver; 1991 CRX, 5spd, 240k on body, 5k on rebuilt engine.

Next is the go-fast car; 1999 Trans Am, 6spd, 60k, a few bolt-ons:

Last is the gas guzzler; 2004 F-150, Auto, 62k, tuned:

Hope to learn a lot of new stuff and hopefully at some point, be able to help others.

Crx looks pretty good, if it were me I would paint the moldings and trim black again....looks cleaner imo. Also used to have an 05 Fx4 with a hypertech, got about 12-14mpg but loved the truck. TA looks ba as well.
To bring this to your thread, to find which motor is in the crx it is stamped on a flat spot where the bellhousing connects to the block. The motor does not matter particularly if everything is still obd0 then you can reference what I said in the other thread.

As for finding which motor, next stupid question (lol).... I know what the block/bellhousing look like, but this flat spot you speak of, can I see it from the top or do I need to get under the car?
LOL I know how that goes, you definitely get what you pay for at Maaco. Maybe a good cut/buff would help out.
Something similar to this, should be able to see it from the top with relative ease, just may be covered in grime.

Ya should be very easy to see when you know where it is
. That picture above is a good example. It'll be roughly couple inches wide and 1 or 2 inches tall. Smooth part right of the tranny. Should be able to see it a few inches above your front engine mount. (If I remember correctly. My car has been DIA for a few months now. Haven't had any funds to work on it. Taxes finally came so I can finally fix it soon.)

I found the engine ID. It is D15B2. So, which OBD do I have and how do I pull the CEL code? Also, where is a good source of info on this particular engine?
I noticed it's idling a bit high as well. The idle ranges from 1200 to 1500. It doesn't jump up and down. When it's cold, it's about 1500 then after it warms up, it's around 1200. I'm assuming I need to follow the guide posted here (https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...highlight=idle) to begin troubleshooting. Right?
