Icon3 GSr turbo compression help

I am getting my jdm gsr engine built next week and i was wondering if it would be better to rebuild with stock 10 to 1 ratio and sleeve block or rebuild with 9 to 1 ratio and sleeve block? Which would be cheaper? Im looking to make 300+hp

You should probably lower compression if your going for that much. Depends on what kind of turbo you plan on running.

For your goals, leave it alone. Just get a good tune.

The cheapest would be to leave it alone. Building it would give you more room in the future if you ever want to go with higher HP.

Personaly, I would just leave it. Unless you can afford it, and might want to go with higher HP in the future.

But you can always build it when you want more.

What turbo are you using? 326 sounds hihg for only 9psi. If you are sleeving it, there are some guys who have made some serious power with some high compression turbo builds. Do some research on that.

You should have no issue making 300 on a stock GSR WITH a good tune.

Stock sleeves should be okay in 500 range. Pistons rods, I don't really know.

This also really depends on how healthy the motor is to begin with.

So if i switch to aftermarket pistons, i will not have to sleeve my block? I don't plan on going over 450hp

A guy in my area has a bone stock JDM ITR making 440whp on like 18psi w/ a 60 trim. I made 340whp on 14psi w/ a 54 trim w/ my bone stock GSR block and B16 head. No need to sleeve unless your looking to go 500+. Its all in the tune...and some luck. Piston/rod upgrades would be an added insurance but is not necessarily needed.

I ran 400whp last summer. I blew a sleeve on 2 different blocks. cost me alot. I wish i had of sleeved it the first time. Some people are lucky and get away with it. luck is usually not on my side. This time around I got a GE sleeved block.
