How to mate the trans to the engine out of car, impossible?
I've been trying for the last two hours, I partially broke one of the threads on the trans, luckily there are threads left. How in the hell do you mate the trans to the engine, what is the easiest way please tell.
if I understand correctly, you have the engine & transmission out of the car, and they are seperated, right?
I had my engine on a pallet, and I simply picked up the tranny (kinda like you're lifting a big plate weight between
your legs) and slid it on. If you are having problems, I would suspect that your clutch is not aligned properly, thus
making it difficult for the tranny's input shaft to engage the engine assy. You may want to check this out.

I didn't have any trouble with mine when the engine was being held off of the floor by the cherry picker. Get someone to steady the engine and pick up the transaxle and slide it on. This is much easier if you have someone to help you.

yes if you can keep the steel inserts.try turning your tranny wi th one of your axles.you kinda jsut gotta keep fidgeting it wround till it gets kinda close.then what i do is start a few bolts to draw the tranny in.not too tight.just be patient and like everyone else says having help is the best way.and trust being that you have it out of the car is wwwwwaaaaaaay easier than in it.good luck
Which clutch plate and transmission are you using. A 1988 transmission wil not work with a 1989-1991 clutch disk. If you have a ZC flywheel and 1988 transmission, you need a 1986-1989 Accord disk.
it's a 90 zc engine, I would guess that's what fly wheel it has. My car likewise is a 90.
If your clutch is aligned properly (you MUST use a clutch alignment tool when putting the clutch components together) then the tranny should slide in.
I had my Z6/Y8 motor on a pallet, and put my '90 Si tranny on all by myself! (yay for me) It was pretty difficult, one of the metal dowel sleeves didn't want to go in - so my tranny was about 80% attached to the block. I just threaded one of the big tranny bolts in, and it closed it all off.

Two things, one I think this used to be on a 92-95 civic, do you think they put a different flywheel on? Second what is a clutch alignment tool?
ok you need a clutch alignment tool. It is a small plastic rod that fits into your clutch then into the input shaft hole or somthing.
it should come with the kit. this alligns the trany input shaft with the clutch or else it will never go in. if ya really wanna make sure itll go in tkae the clutch disc off and slide it over the tranny and see if it is the right size. if it dont fitr then you know thats your problem. otherwise just wiggle.
If everything is corrrect itll only take 5 min to get on

Where can I get this at? I didn't buy a new clutch or anything, I'm just taking my si pressure plate and clutch disc off and putting it on my zc.
