Default help to identify ecu

I bought a 98 civic with a b16 swap, the p/o said he converted it to obd-1.im trying to find out which ecu in the car,its gotta be socketed right?it has 2-step,8500 rpm reline, 8200 rpm cel shift light.he said it,s not a p28, he thinks it a pow? there is no tags on it. can you tell by takin it apart?the car runs great just want to know which one i got.

It is probably a converted P06.

which engine that came out of? I can rechip it? im planing on ading a turbo

There are 2 locations that I know of to identify OBD1 ecu

Pull the cover, there's a second sticker on the ECU plugs that's only visible with cover removed. Or if that's not there post pics of the ECU with the cover removed and I can probably tell you what it is.

PW0 came in some JDM/Euro B16A powered '88 - '91 Civics, they're all OBD0. I doubt that's what you have. Like grumblemarc suggested it's more likely a chipped and converted P06 (or a P05/PR4/P75)

If it's already running on your engine it doesn't matter what it came out of. If it's socketed you can re-chip it and have a basemap put on a new chip and get it tuned.
