I just got a b16a2 from a jdm front clip. I got the p30 ecu with it too. I was wonder what the redline is on a p30? Cuz the one i got is at 8500 rpm cutoff . That only means i got a reprogramed ecu then . What possible program could it be? I know the ecu is from japan cuz i saw the front clip just get off the truck and they pulled i pulled the ecu out of it my self.

 

I think the JDM P30 does have a higher rev limit than either a JDM PR3/PW0 or a USDM P30.

 

Ok, here's how you find out if it's been reprogrammed. Take off the cover, and look at the circuit board. There should be a blank space on the board where a 28 pin chip should go. You'll see 2 rows of 14 holes spaced apart by .6"
If there is a chip there, it's been chipped. If there is nothing there but 28 little solder bumps, it's factory. You'll know exactly what I'm talking about as soon as you take the cover off....

 

A P30 isn't supposed to redline at 7,200. Where did you get that info? The US P30 came in the del Sol VTECs with the B16A3, and I think the rev limiter was somewhere around 8200-8400.

 

I have a JDM P30 ecu and I have rev'd my car to 8900 with out hitting the limiter. Never had it chiped and never reved it that high again ... If its over that then I dont care where it is cuz i have the stock vt
