Got a code 17 today which we all know is the vss. Well everything i've read on the other forums about it say that it will cause the vtec to not engage. Well, my spedo, tach, and vtec all still work fine with the cel (17) being thrown. Everything else i've read says that one or none of those three things will work while that code is being thrown. Whats the deal with mine? Is something still wrong with my vss, or is my ecu trippin. Thanks guys.
FYI: Engine is b16a and ecu is p28 chipped with s100

 

Thats not true! all that will work still, i just did that when i left it unpluged when i filled my tranny! everything will work besides the speedo! just unplug the ecu and replug so it resets itself, also unplug the vss and see if theres fluid like coolant from a leak that seeped in the plug causing the connection to fail and pop the code.

 

Hmm, guess everyone else was wrong then. I'll have to check that tomorrow, hopefully thats all it is.
