i decided to run the car hard this afternoon. during high revs, i can't seem to engage 2nd and 4th. i need to wait until the rpm drops to the 5500-6300 range to engage it. i need advice to solve this problem. what might cause this? shift linkage? syncro? the g/b fluid is brand new, so is the clutch. might be a dumb question to some but i'm new with this kinda thing.

 

sounds to me like you need to adjust your clutch

Or your throwout bearing needs to be changed

 

throw out bearing? really?
check your linkage. is reverse 100% ok?

 

not really sure what a throw out bearing is but the clutch set is new.. reverse is 100% fine.. when i rev until 6500rpm range, there's no problem in engaging gears.. only into the 7000-8500 range i will face this problem..

 

oh, well that is just plain age/wear then.

 

would changing sycros or g/b be better?
