Default Which Progress suspension to get?

I have the money and I'm about to order the Progress Series II coilovers but I'm not sure which spring rate. I was originally going with 350/350 but I've heard the 500 is better. My Del Sol is a summer daily driver and I'll most likely delivering pizza as well. Right now it's slammed on neuspeed springs and stock struts which is an amazingly awful ride. I'm also installing a full bushing set from Energy Suspension at the same time and I was wondering about doing front and or rear sway bars AND strut tower bars.

Neuspeed race on stock struts is an awful ride because it's neuspeed springs on stock struts.

You have 485F/395R if you have the neuspeed race. Your oem dampers aren't remotely capable of keeping up with that.

If you really want comfort for daily driving you need to get the 350/250.

Do the rear sway bar only, not the front. You could also just get some ITR Bilstein Sports/LCA, as they are a good match for the Neuspeed Race springs. They are rebuildable/Re-valveable too unlike the Progress. I'm not knocking the Progress coilovers though, they are a good pick too.

Be carefull with doing what he said. A rear bar, and not having a front is asking for over steer which you may not be ready for.

Having a lot of over steer can get you in trouble FAST.
Over steer isn't bad thing, BUT you have to be carefull.

Whats your budget?

I would say go with progress coil overs, OR, just pick up some Koni sports and keep your springs (I would do this)
Than grab some Integra sway bars. Maybe, if you feel like it, unhook the front bar and go play in some corners.

I am not responsible for anything that happens, wether it be a ticket or a wrecked car. Really the only way to learn is to do it.

I didnt mean rear bar only, but to upgrade the rear only. I guess I was assuming he had a factory front bar.

On a relatively small budget. I have enough for the progress now but I plan on doing the bushing at the same time which I don't have money for. Where's the best place to get the koni yellows? Will they keep up with the spring rate of the neuspeed or should I stick with the safe bet of the progress? Also still unsure which rate to get...

Thmotorsports. They will run you about 450-500, with life time warranty. They will handle your springs no problem.

Go to neuspeed.com you will see they have a Bilstein sport that they reccomended for the neuspeed race. They are only 120each too, they are 180 anywhere else. Only downside is you need ITR LCA's, which aren't expensive. My dealer hook up can get them for 75 a pair new. Koni yellows are a waste if you aren't going to spend the time to tune them.

I am in the same exact position as you. I have neuspeed race on stock shocks. After all the research I did I decided the Bilsteins were the best option. Second best was the Progress but I didn't like the fact they weren't re-valveable. Any adjustable shock was out of the question. The sports are huge in the VW scene for a reason. They work.

As far as spring rates go, its really up to what you will be using the car for and what other suspension mods you have. Along with personal preferance. You could always get both, I think they can do that.

I do have to say, with the alignment I have the car seems to rotate well, so I want too keep the springs I have. You might feel otherwise. The Civic with stock shocks feels better than my old MR2 with Tein coils. I can only dream about what it will be like when I get the billys.

So $525 for the Bilstein and LCAs.. save like $50 and go that route when I'm not even sure the condition of these springs or just spend the $579 on the Progress and have everything brand new... I'm really leaning towards the 350/250. Least hassle and chance of any problems. Does a guideline exist for replacing bushings? Also does anyone know if the Energy Suspension bushing sets come with the trailing arm ones? And any difference between these two sets?

That was the one thing I questioned. Call up nuespeed. They might be able to help you out figuring out the condition. Good quality springs will last a long time.

The 350/250 would be a good rate to go with for a daily driver. Just make sure you get a good alignment afterwords. You can do a lot of tuning with that alone.

I think the only difference between the kits is color. One black, the other red.
