Default h22a wont start

hey guys i have a 95 civic si with a h22a mounted to an h2d kit running the stock si trans. the slave cylinder went out about a month and half ago and 3 weeks later i installed a new slave cylinder. then the car wouldnt start just cranks over til the cows come home. i checked codes i dont remember the numbers but they were for egr o2 sensor and knock sensor. no o2 is wired in and the egr has been deleted. i found lots of gas in the oil which i think is due to the car having a misfire issue before the slave cylinder went out. i changed the oil and squirted a drop of oil in each cylinder and cranked it over with the plugs out and the injectors disconnected to try to get the cylinder walls lubed up again. i also cleaned the plugs, put everything back together and still got nothing. i just put new plugs and a new distributor in the car and a new battery. and im still getting nothing. i also checked compression and got 125 125 150 100. this was just after squirting oil in the cylinders to try to get them lubed up again. the car just cranks over. the timing is good, its got compression, its getting fuel, its getting spark. ive been at this for 3 weeks and ive exhausted my knowledge, and yes i have searched the forums.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

does the clutch still engage? like can you put it into a gear with the car off?

or did it stop after changing the distributor? you sure you have the right firing order?

If you havent done so already, check all your ground wires
and attachments are in good contact.

Clutch works fine from what I can tell. Could a bad coolant temp sensor cause this problem?

Ya a bad cts could cause it not to start. So if everything else is good (timing, grounds) just replace it and you should be good

those are real low numbers for a compression test.... h22 should be in the 180-220 range if im not mistaken.

I'm hoping that's just due to it being flooded and the cylinder walls being dried out

Did you get it running? I've seen this little beast around town and parked in the lot where I work (Monical's). Good luck with the fix.

took it to a shop finally, they reset the timing, the belt had jumped 3 teeth. they also replaced the tps. this got the car to start and run for 2 days (though very poorly) and then it sat for a day and now it wont start yet again, same symptoms. does anyone know what compression should be for a h22a for sure? im starting to think i have an internal problem like bad headgasket or burnt up valves or something

You should be seeing 220. It's possible that your numbers are low because it's been so long since it ran. A machine shop told me once that anything over 100 should fire and run, not great mind you, but it should at least rough idle.

Yeah, mine read 190 across the board when cold, and should be about 220 or so when at operating temp, while I tryed to diagnose an issue that ended up being skipped teeth on one cam pulley.

If you were missing before the problem, you could have skipped teeth and bent valves, or have a bad headgasket.

Honestly, I would pull the head and check the gasket and valves at this point.

Just do a leakdown test to confirm the compression results. Also, perhaps the tensioner is malfunctioning. But odds are from the teeth jumping the motor is messed up.
