Default Type r heater problem

I bought a 2000 type r about a year ago I took out the motor to rebuild and the heater worked fine, so I put a b16 in the car just so I could still cruise it around, after I put the b16 in I have no heater, when I go from 1 to 4 I get nothing and none of my heater options light up when I push them but they will light up when I have running lights on so climate control has power to it. If anyone has experienced this or have any ideas that would be great thanks.

Is the cable still hooked up? Did you bypass the hoses at the motor before it went into the car instead of hooking them up at the firewall?

Its weird heat still comes through the vent while I'm driving but there is no way I can control it or stop it from coming in and no hoses where by passed I guess I could pull the climate control and look but I don't see why it would come undone. Thanks for the fast response

Are both coolant hoses hot? And is the coolant topped off? Might be dumb things to check, but sometimes the basics get overlooked.

Is your thermostat in there or does it work?

Make sure that cable on the firewall for the valve is moving.

LOL, pardon my failure to read. My brain is fried. TGIF!

Might check the 40 amp (under hood) heater motor relay or 7.5 amp (under dash) Heater blower rly fuse though....I hope I didn't get those confused.
