My gas light does not work on my 97 EX and it's not the cluster.

Any ideas?

 

did those come with a low fuel light?

 

how low is it? I thought mines didn't work so I put it to the test and after like 1000 miles it finally came on...... i have a 96 but I'm sure its the same, also had a del sol and it was the same way

 

It's only 3 components, low fuel/fuel level sender(in the tank) 1 wire running from there to the cluster and the cluster light. There is a test procedure for the sender in the FSM. On 92-95 you need to jumper pin 1-3 at the sender to check the cluster light and wiring to the cluster, and seeing as the sender is the same P/N as 96-98 Sedan, I would assume the test is the same.

First step would be to check the bulb just to make sure that its not a easy fix, if the bulb is good then check the low fuel sender like Tlarimer suggested.

stock fuel pump? If not then theres your answer

 

on mine the light will generally turn on then off about 2 times but after the 3rd time it usually just stays lit.

 

yea mine doesnt work either, i changed the whole float n pump n still nothing

 

not sure i got it like that..why would that change it just curious
