Default shiftlinkage

today i took my carpet out and saw that the shiftlinkage is not bolted right it doesn't even have bolts!. the tranny was replaced not too long ago so i guess they put it back in a rush.

I dont have jack stands yet so i cant see ( from the bottom) if the bolts are different length or one is about to fall off.

My quaestions are:
1. when i order a shiftlinkage fomr honda would it come with bolts and bushings ?
2. could this be the reason why sometimes is hard to go into reverse ? i also heard it could be that my short shifter is to tight.

thanks for your help in advance

Looks fine to me. Just replace the rubber piece you need.

I know, that's what I'm referring to. You can add nuts on them to secure them more but it should be fine the way it is. You don't need to buy a whole new shift linkage.

You can grab some new bushings for like $15.00 bucks here. http://www.heeltoeauto.com/home.php?cat=321

The two silver screws are actually the bolts. The nuts are welded to the floor.

The shift linkage consists of 30 diff. parts, all sold separately, bushing "kits" and so on will also be available... http://acuraautomotiveparts.org/acur...ystemcomp=List All&vinnoT=&trim=&trans=&view=normal 94

Thanks for the good info alot of stuff that I didn't know. The fact that one is longer than the other still bothers me and one is in a angle ( but i feel more safe now knowing that the nuts are welded to shell , i thought it was going to fall off while i was driving) I will try to get matching bolts from home depot as for the bushings which ones are better the ones from passwordjdm.com or those red ones ?

the first pic the arrow on the right is for tentioning the power steering, mine is a wing bolt, but you can just get a regular bolt to fit there.

It looks like you are good with a camera, so why don't you take a picture of what you are going to work on before taking anything apart? It might help get it back together right the first time.

I would not replace those shifter bolts with just any grade bolt. Home Depot would not be the place to purchase automotive grade bolts.
