Is this normal? Its not super loud, and its not like a rod knock or bearing going south. Its on a 1998 Honda Civic Ex with ~82K miles on it. After it warms up it seems to go away or slightly be heard, seems like its when the idle comes down (certain band width) while warming up. Runs great, so I'm not sure if this is indicative with Honda's, or ??? Thanks!

 

Sounds like piston slap.

 

Is that common? The engine only has 85K on it!! Should I be concerned or can I expect to get another 100K or so from the engine?

 

wouldnt piston slap still be there when the engine warms up?

 

I adjusted the valves and its not as loud, so maybe its something in the valve train, however it does sound lower in the block, but then again sound sometimes travels and can be deceptive...
