turbo car feeling weak....
it's been bothering me for a while but a when i first installed my 550cc injectors and base map a year or so ago, the car pulls really hard till red line and would not bog down. i rarely red line my car but at the time the wheels would just spin out until about the first of second and third gear i would get traction. it was great for the first two days i had it and then one rainy night i raced my cousin and of corse went nowhere. the next day took it for a ride and the car felt really weak, like a stock gsr and occasional fuel cuts at boost.
i know it's only a base map but i can't figure the sudden power loss. all hoses are tight and in place. the victor x im had my wires a tight fit and i notice the #4 injector wire broke from the flexing of the motor. rewired and solder it. same thing. any ideas what i should look for? my main suspect is the stage 3 clutch is a little violent on the stock engine mounts, the tranny mount broke on me at one point. what could be loose causing this? my vtec doesn't seem to work either.
I'm going to put the car on jacks tomorrow and recheck all my wires. the car is leaking oil from the head, i do have the gaskets for it and plan to install on a warmer day. i'm also going to swap out my vtec soleniod with a friends a long with a similar spec ecu. any ideas or suggestions? the turbo system is fine, no leaks that i know of, holds boost and idles fine.
I don't drive the car much at all, it just bothers me how it once felt like a lot of power, then the next day gone. oil level is fine. perhaps a breather kit?

i found it did find leak under the solenoid and the main gasket was like cardboard when i took it out. will go buy one tomorrow. the top seal was fine but shatter as i pulled it apart. hope this is the problem
You have been a member here since 05 and your dumb enough to go smashing on a base map. Well sir that is your problem. Get it tuned ASAP before more damage is done. I'm sure you have messed up something already. Base maps are only good to get you to a tuner WITHOUT smashing it. Base maps are an educated guess just like science lol. Also invest in a wideband o2 sensor so you know atleast how youre car is running and at what AFR's.

i don't have that kind of money lying around anymore. saving money to go back to school. it's not like i go out racing with it or anything, just a car i have on the side when ever i'm bored of my daily driver. i was going to rebuild it last year after taxes but i rear ended someone and cost me my build and tune. just my luck.
listen to igorka. basemaps arent safe. It doesn't matter if you're not "racing" If you're getting on it enough to notice a power loss you're going too hard for a basemap. get it tuned before it blows up.

Also do a leak down test to see if any damage has been done to your rings. Most likely the base map is running your engine supper rich.
Those who refuse to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.. right?
Figure out what happened, learn, share what you learn, do better next round.
I agree that a compression test may be wise, and while you say you don't race you did use the term 'red line' more than once. Things can go badly very fast with boost, and so safety requires more than a little extra precaution and control. I'd listen to the comments re: basemap and look into that too.
Good luck

That's great news, as it would seem to rule out problems with valves, rings, etc.
That leaves spark/timing and fuel/air.
Rule 'em out one at a time... with all the movement of the engine (mounts loose, etc), any chance you've cracked or pulled loose a vacuum hose?
Also, you might want to double check the timing marks/belt.
When the WB02 sensor arrives, that'll give you a good idea what is happening with the fuel/air!
Last thought - you put a fuel pressure gauge on it to see if it's starved for gas?
Good luck,
Mark

Uve done a comp test now do a leak down test. Comp test doesnt really tell you how healthy youre engine is. All it would tell you is the psi diference in each cyl. A leakdown test will tell you the health of ure rings, leaking valve seats and so on. If you hear air coming out of ure oil cap hole then tha means ure rings are fried like onion rings. If its coming from the IM then youre intake valves are leaking if from the exhaust then ure exhaust valves are leaking somewere. Now if u have bubbles leaking out of ure radiator. You need a new headgasket.
