advice on clutch replacement
Hi HT forum. Recently i bought an '05 S2k white. it seems the Clutch could be replace and im wondering if you guys can give me some feedbacks on which to replace. i looked at this website for an oem replacement and an ACT street package.
oem replacement for $478 http://performance.i...6/i-125872.aspx
ACT street package for $525. http://performance.i...ss/i-46574.aspx
If you guys can show me some other place with better deals, that would be great. I am leaning forward just an oem replacement due to the car being stock and i have no plans to mod the S except just getting a lip or a hardtop.

OEM for sure. I've never really liked ACT clutches. The OEM works great and feels great. Personally, I would go with an AP1 flywheel and the CDV delete while I was at it...but if you're into the smoother operation of the AP2 drivetrain, then leave it alone.
it has 66k miles on it, i plan on leaving the car stock.
would it be ok if i just changed the disc, bearings and keep the current pressure plate?

youd probably be alright going that route, but id definantly check out the pressure plate when you get everything apart just to make sure, but chances are itll be fine...but always double check
wow some people just talk out of their ***.
since ur going to stay stock use oem. i would recommend just getting a new disk and resurfacing the pp and flywheel and ur good to go and its cheaper too.

Clutch buzz is SO annoying!! I had it with my OEM clutch and decided on an Exedy Hyper single since I was tracking the car a lot and the operation of the hyper single is really nice for the track. It didn't buzz for a day. Now it sounds like F'ing apocalypse!!
I kinda wish I would have gone with like an AP2 OEM replacement clutch or something. Or just left my clutch alone. It only had 27k on it. Oh well. That's $1400 I'll never get back. So I'll just abuse the clutch I bought for enjoyment!

I personally would do everything. Clutch, Bearings, Pressure plate, and a new flywheel. I have heard bad things about people getting our flywheels resurfaced. I bought the lightweight fidanza with the interchangable contact plate and i love it. Sometimes it's a bitch to drive in traffic though.
OP - those links you gave are broken..
IMO go with the stronger (than oem) clutch, you say you will keep the car stock.. but you hang out on these forums too long and the boost bug will bite you eventually haha
Clutch jobs are not the funnest things to do on this car. Even without boost I find a harder biting clutch to be more fun to drive. Just dont go crazy and get a 4 puck, that will not be fun.
Replace the TOB & Pilot bearing too, go with OEM honda for that stuff. Since you have an '05 (22lb), get an AP1 (13lb) flywheel, you can find them used for $50, get it resurfaced for anther $50 and you're good to go.
If you end up going w/ ACT or Competition clutch call No Limit Motorsport, they sell for same price & no tax since you're in Cali. 1.866.381.4618 ask for Chris

wow, great advice guys. Im hoping to just get all new oem parts if i can find decent price. also i was planning to changed it myself but i might fork out the money and play for labor. Do you guys have any recommendation for any shops in Socal around Orange County area.
Comp Stage 2 full face is what we favor at the shop. Customers love it. It gives you alittle more hold without a bunch of extra pressure on your left foot. The full face disk gives the oem engagement that hope pucks don't great price.

I can do $425 shipped to socal. I can cut you a better deal if you pair a comp flywheel with it. Give me a call if interested. (509) 585-0900
