Sidemarkers that run all the time and flash for turn signal, without using 3 wires.
Hey guys i had an idea for wiring the fender lights to both run all the time and blink with the turn signal, without running a three circuit wire to the sidemarker.
here it is, i think in theory this should work, what does everyone think.
diagram of the relay that would be used, and how to wire it.

#1 wire would be, the power that usually runs to the turn signal to activate it, and when power is switched on will power the coil.
#2 wire would be, a simple body ground
#3 would be capped with with a plastic connector, no wire would be wired to this.
#4 would be the ground wire to the side marker from the body harness
#5 would be ground from the relay to the sidemarker, for the sidemarker
theory and operation.
the side marker ground will be completed from pin 30 through 87A all the time, leaving it illuminated all the time. When the turn signal power energizes the front turn signal, it will energize the coil and cause the switch to connect from 30 to pin 87 breaking the illuminated light at the side marker. Since the power to the coil switches on and off this will cause the ground to 87A to switch on and off causing a flashing effect.
Does everyone thinks this is right..? i havent tried this yes but have been throwing this idea around in my head for a while

that's stupid, you're stupid, and it'll never work...
...typical hater-tech response...haha
anyway i say go ahead and do a loose mock up and try it out, or ask that filthy mormon tyrell smith about it

Yes it would work, you would need 2 of them, I am not sure what, if anything, the extra load of the relays coil would do to the blink speed.
Some Honda/Acura already have that circuit, front side markers are controlled by the ICU to blink ON for signal and hazards, turn on for park lights, blink OFF for signal and hazards if park lights are on.
Only real diff. between your relay and the ICU side marker output is yours will not blink, [blink OFF] unless the park lights are on. 94

You don't need any of this relay mess.
Simply connect 1 wire of the sidemarker to your turn signal POWER wire, and the other wire of the sidemarker to the parking light POWER wire. That's all you need to do - they'll run with parking lights and also function as turn signals.

this was going to be my response. i love how people make things so complicated
Where is this ICU with the "Side Marker Flasher Relay Circuit"? I'm pretty sure that's my issue. No parking lights at all, 194 bulb not working at all, 1157 bulb works for turn and hazard only. Stalk activates rear parking lights etc.

The ICU is on the back of the interior fuse box. In my opinion it is best to fix the problem rather that work around it. I have been told that fully functional ICUs are hard to find.
The ICU has several functions:

The ICU has several functions:
- Brake Warning Light Bulb Check
- Oil Pressure Warning Flasher
- Side Marker Flasher
- Key-In Reminder
- Lights-On Reminder
- Rear Window Defogger
- Intermittent Wipers
