DC4_Dad’s 1997 Integra Build Thread
Hey guys,
Just got a new phone so I’m going to upload pictures of my build so that I don’t lose them. The yellow Integra is my old 1994 RS that was totaled by somebody hitting me head-on. So, I purchased the 1997 LS with the money I got from the insurance and swapped over the parts. Bought the car for $1400 with 180k miles on it, bone stock. Pics are somewhat out of order, to be forewarned
Resurfacing the valve cover with some VHT high temp wrinkle paint
How my old Integra went to the junkyard after I parted it out
Suspension upgrade
Rising sun with plastidip
Somebody backed into my car in a parking lot and didn’t leave a note...
Km/h LS cluster
Tan leather interior
Junkyard door because mine was all rusted at the bottom
Finally bought a set of wheels and used the tires I had on my OEM wheels for these.
VIS Racing CF hood for $40
Replacing door
HPS intake
CT-Engineering Icebox
Winter mode

Re: DC4_Dad’s 1997 Integra Build Thread
At this point in time, I purchased a 2006 Acura TL (6-speed) as a daily. And I began really structuring my Integra towards autox
Invested in some better tires
Crazy snow storm in March (Upstate NY)
Daily driver
PCI sideskirts
Straight-piped
Valve adjustment and a little “bling”
Removed AC and power steering
Custom exhaust made for rear diffuser
Tucked muffler
Bumper cut
Plastidipped wheels to protect finish
Old suspension (over two years old)
Megan Racing EZ Street II coilovers paired with Function 7 LCA’s
Used scrap aluminum to build a custom front splitter
Black GSR interior
Got the B18C1 from the GSR as well
Refinished the valve cover
What it looked like when I got it
In the middle of the swap
Finished swap, just needed to wire up VTEC, pressure switch, crankshaft positioning sensor, etc.
Kanjo door cards for autox number
Ocean City, MD for H2Oi 2017 (second year)
End of the fall, put car away in the carport and sold the wheels/tires for Enkei RPF1’s and Bridgestone RE-71R’s. (Currently waiting for them in the mail).

Nice build and story. I have to say your cam cover paint job is bloody good. *tips hat*. Oddly enough over the years I've begun to appreciate the no spoiler look. It looks damned good on your car anyway.

Thank you, kind sir. And yes, I also like the no spoiler look as well. Everyone and their brother has a Type R eBay special on their Integra, it seems like.

Yeah, it's probably the only way to get a nice sound out of a N/A straight piped Honda. Sounds like a mixture between a V8 and a boxer engine. It's hard to describe but if you heard it, you'd understand what I mean. I've got a couple videos on my Instagram @A_Dirty_Doormat that you can hear how it sounds from inside and out at low RPMs.

No, not in my opinion. There is a definite weight savings, and going from having a catalytic converter to straight-pipe, I felt a throttle response increase and from the butt dyno, I could feel an increase in power. Compared to a traditional performance header though, I'm not sure. After the loop, it goes to a v-band connection to a 2.5" pipe that connects to the test pipe. Which I have mated to a Skunk2 Mega Power cat-back exhaust. It has an unbeatable sound, that's for sure.
