Help Building wire harness
I just got an EG civic to replace my previous one that burnt, but this time instead of having it as my daily i will just keep it as a weekend/race car, so i stripped the entire car and sent it to bodywork and paint, and while that is being done i am trying to build a wire harness that got from the engine straight to the ecu.
this EG is/was carb so it didnt come with much of a engine bay harness. But since my previous car burn to a crisp and have such great friends I was given a total Type-R harness (full engine and chassis harness) all except the female plug which contains the wires for the starting motor ( the blk/yel and blk/wht) .
the harness connects to the Shock towers just like OBD1 and then runs inside, 90% of which goes to ecu. a few wires from the ecu plugs run through the chassis harness and to the opposite side ( these include VSS fuel pump relay , sean tool, etc)
my questions are does the big female plug i am missing contain those wires (VSS etc) .
what other wires are in that big plug?
can i run them directly to where they need to go?
what else do i need in the inside harness? ( all i want is the engine to start and the gauge cluster to work)
anyone have any guidance on how i should proceed and what wires i need or what wires i may not need in order to get the car to run?
sorry i dont have any pics, tried to give as much info as i could.

Download the helms manual. That would be the easiest thing for you to do. I would try to get a 96-00 Civic engine harness if i where you. That harness plugs right into the Ecu so all you ahve to do is add power and grounds to it, very easy and alot easier to do.
that is the harness which i have. and i do have a helms
. i dont know if the JDM hasnesses are different from what you guys have in the US, but the harness i have is form a 98 Type-R and is OBD2 but it still has the shock tower plugs similar to that of the OBD1 style Harness.
