Hey can anyone help me out with how I can re-route my Upper and lower AC line off the compressor? I'd rather not pay $500 to a company to do it if I can do it myself for less with basic parts from a hardware store or something.
I basically need to at minimum, re-rout the upper line (line off the top of the compressor) to go to the RIGHT off the compress (the soft line) and then run a line from that softline, underneath the front support (like where the hood release is) and around the overflow tank and then re-connect to the factory line.
The refrigerant is completely empty from when a AC line cracked at VIR last summer, so I won't have to worry about draining it first.
Also, if anyone has advice for changing around the lower line as well that would be awesome.
Thanks!

Toots, I broke an a/c line a couple years ago. It would not be expensive at all to get a custom line made. I had about 20-24" of the large hardline replaced with a flexible line for $40. AS for off the shelf parts, I am unaware of anything that you could use without needing any welding of the aluminum pipe.

Ok sweet..who did you go to? Just a local AC repair company or like a car performance shop? A car performance shop near me quoted like $500 a year back to do it and I thought that was complete BS.
I looked all around my area in Cali and found nothing. I know earls makes AC specific line you can put together like AN fitings but I'm not exactly sure how to integrate it in the slock system IE the pump, dryer etc. I am just biting the bullet and taking it to a shop because as of today I found a guy that can custom make me lines that will integrate into the stock pieces and run like I want them to, in front of the radiator and along the passenger side frame rail.
I am taking my car back to his shop this friday to get the final details worked out and I am going to have the lines made a week from friday. If you want me to have him make you a set also feel free to PM me. Just know you will have to have someone tig it or whatever to parts of your stock stuff.

I went to a local mom and pop shop. There was a guy there that did this stuff on the side, so it was a little bit cheaper but he did iton the side mainly b/c I wanted to back the next day and the shop was booked.

Just out of curiosity...are you re-routing because of a turbo or header setup that puts pressure on the line? Or is the OEM A/C line prone to cracking due to the positioning?

I know aeroquip sells all kinds of R134a fittings and lines. They even have the low pressure fill valve should you be replacing that piece as well.
In this picture I didn't have the AC lines completed. I had a local shop make me a longer rubber hose and everything is now charged up and working but I need to move the lines for a bigger radiator fan.
Does anyone know what the size and thread is of the AC line in this picture? There is the other end which you can't see in this picture that is on the passenger side under my upper charge pipe has this fitting also. I was thinking about going from that point with aeroquip soft line and running it under the radiator support over to the compressor.

I'm looking to replace the #4 and #2 lines and routing them under the radiator support but I need to know what size that thread is where #4 connects to #5.

Im about to do my project, I plain to used the factory lines for the connections that need to be factory and use the hard sections to re work the routing to suit my set-up and bend where needed. I also have some extra lines to use for bends if need be. Then just tig weld all the sections. Anouther option would be to use steel braided line if you dont want to bend pipe!

I have wanted to make a custom AC setup for years but haven't figured out a definite way to do what I want. It would be nice to have the fill recharge ports on the right side of the car so the lines from the compressor can run directly out of the way from the header, turbo, manifold, whatever it may be.
