Default Is a t4 turbo too big for a street going gsr?

Hey guys I am shopping for a turbo and leaning towards the pt51. I see alot of guys running and selling t4 monifolds and I always thought these would be far too big for a street car. Is anyone on here running one?

no it's not to big, i'm gonna be running a straight T4 60-1 as a daily driver. Now one thing, your not gonna build boost till later, and traction is gonna be something of the past.

lol, yes and no. If you plan on racing it on the street these are things to worry about. Well traction will be a killer when it rains or snows(depending on area you live in). I know with my small greddy kit and the automatic i would spin in the rain w/o driving like a maniac. It's still a streetable turbo, you'll just have to get used to buyin front tires more often.

Hey, is there such thing as a t3/60-1 or just t4/60-1. by this i mean is it possible to use a t3 exhaust housing with a 60-1 compressor or do you have to use a t4 exhaust housing.

the t3/60-1 is a very popular turbo.
its basically a t3 turbine and center section with a to4s compressor housing, wheel and backing plate.
its so popular, that it's on backorder til at least oct 1st directly from garrett.

Yeah that's a great turbo for street cars, if they have a V8 to go with it

who needs to push over 650 hsp on the street???

get a t4, 60-1, ball bearing. best street turbo for 400+ hsp in my opinion.

straight t4s are too much for street cars in my opinion.

If you want a straight t4, the N trim wheel was the best for our needs. Hwoever that wheel has since been discontinued as the t4 class and is now known as the stage 5 t3 wheel

Best setup, stage 5 t3, with 60-1. imo. $0.02

stg5 ownz..too bad i dont got one
A local GSR is running a straight T4 turbo.. i saw him run at the track.low 13's on street tires but you should see him launch..he has to rev so high(on street tires that sucks) cause I bet that sucker spools at like 6 grand! but the car is fast, no doubt!
