Default Upkeep with a Turbo ITR?

Hey,

I'm not asking wether or not a turbo is good/bad for the ITR, I'm simply interested in the day to day maintenance you have to perform to keep the car running.

Do you Turbo ITR owners tune all the time? What else do you have to do to ensure that the car can be daily driven?
Oh ya, I'm also assuming you're running low boost. 5-7 lbs.

Any info is appreciated.

Change the oil religiously, on time etc. Make sure all the hose clamps are tight on the couplers. Run good gas, or atleast a good octane. Run colder plugs. Those are the little things that come to mind.
Oh, and I'm untuned, stock plugs and stock timing and my R runs like a top at 6.5psi

Thanks buddy,

What sort of plugs are you reffering to? I have NGK power cables still with the stock plugs.
Also, how many of you went with a 3" exhaust?

THX

Anybody else?

I only thing I do different now Im turbo is change the oil every 2000 miles and after Im done driving I let the turbo timer cool it down. There is no daily tuning or anything like that involved, I got my hondata tuned once and if I add anything I will retune it, other then that everything runs fine.

Im not sure what the number is for the NGK's, and be sure you gap your plugs to about .28 this will net like ten hp over the stock gap. as for 3' exhaust you only need it if you run like 8 psi or more, heck I run 8 psi on a 60mm apexi N1.

Thanks Type-Arr!
I also will have a hondata as it is a fantastic tool to tune with and it's great for your fuel needs.

Have any of you replaced your clutch or axels? I'm concerned about the load on them if I decide to go down to the track.

How much faster our your R's with Turbo vs. a stock ITR? I've always been curious about Turbo on my ITR but have heard that it's not the best thing to do with such a great engine, and high compression etc. Is it worth the money and hassle? How much money and what kit? You Turbo ITR owners make it sound like it's a piece of cake, is it? was it? Thanks.

yes - replaced both

get a stronger clutch and better axles - if you make decent power - both will tap out real early

much

Can anybody tell me what sort of axels they are running on their turbo setup?
Is it needed?

Well from what I've seen, with a finely tuned setup, you can make between 275-325 to the wheels with no problem.

What about that situation?

FWIW I gained 2.1 seconds in the 1/4 mile so far. That was at 6.5psi untuned on street tires
