Ok so I'm doing this build for a friend. The parts we are using are a stock d16z6 block, crank, and head. So far we've got 400+ fj r spec racing rods, 76mm vitara pistons, acl racing main and rod bearings, block guard, supertech valve springs and titaniam retainers, gates racing timing belt, obx thremal intake gasket arp head studs, and adjustable cam gear. I also ordereda cometic 5 layer head gasket but i think it will bump down the compression to much so should i run a stock head gasket instead?

also what to give big thanks to ebay for the cheap prices on good parts.

 

I would use an OEM or some sort of 3 layer MLS not 5 layers. Your already around 9.0:1-9.5:1 which is where most people are so I would keep it around that I wouldn't try to lower it anymore

 

ya thats what i was think but will the stock mls head gaskets hold up to about 400+ hp? also i really didn't want to go any lower on the compression since the vitara pistons were going to lower the compression already. thanks for the advice
