Default Airbag discussion

First of all, sorry for my bad English, i'm from The Netherlands.

Most Honda drivers/ tuners remove the original steering wheel whit airbag and replace a Momo, Qsp, Spoon whatever sport steering wheel.

I don't understand one thing. Why they do that? They say: Safety first, better safe than sorry. Buy expensive roll cages and seat belts but remove the OEM steering wheel whit airbag.

I have a EK3. I can't choise, drive whit airbag (OEM steering wheel) or whitout airbag (Momo Tuner)

Whether or not an airbag will help you in the event of an accident depends on a lot things. Depending on the crash they can help you or hurt you. Most of the '92 - '95 Civics here in Canada never had airbags so there's not really a choice to make over here. In the US it's a little different.

If road safety is important to you, why remove a device that is a well documented safety feature?
