gen.1 steering wheel
anyone got an idea how to remove/replace
steering wheel for gen.1 crv??
also can a AP1/honda s2000 steering wheel could fit
on it?/ i know it does for civic EKs, i was wondering if
we share the bolt/pattern/steering column with the EKs..
or can an acura RSX steering wheel would be the same??
any help is appreciated!! but mainly i wanna know how to
disassemble the steering wheel and i could test fit both
steering wheel since i could get it for cheap..
thanks!

Re: gen.1 steering wheel
two access/cover panels on the backside of the steering wheel. (disconnect the battery if you want)
remove these covers
If I recall it's a T-30 torx screw on either side.
remove them and the airbag can be pulled towards yourself. *note there are a few wires connected still, remove them and remember where they go
disconnect the airbag connector.
I believe it's a 19mm nut to remove the wheel from the steering column.
shimmy the wheel up/down/ all around and it will slide off.
I don't know about the other oem steering wheel fitment.
HTH.

Re: gen.1 steering wheel
thanks a lot!!
this will be an experiment for me and see what other
OEM steering wheel could fit with the crv...
next problem will be will the cruise control wires match up
or i have to splice them to work, and also the airbags...
if not ill just plug the resistor for it to be deactivated..for a while..

Re: gen.1 steering wheel
It literally takes minutes to pull the steering wheel, it's pretty easy.
I have a spare s2000 steering wheel, it would be cool to fit it to the odyssey!

Re: gen.1 steering wheel
yes it will fit in a CRV. The Gen1 CRV and the 96-00 Civic share almost the same **** inside and out side and also under the hood (besides the B20z).
