Default Rotora Brake pads? Also general race pad questions.

I'm trying to get my ITR ready for HPDE track duty.

I found these rotora brake pads...which look a lot like the AXXIS pads...which kinda remind me of EBC pads. Are they made by EBC? If they are...I don't want them lol. http://www.thmotorsports.com/rotora/...c/g-51735.aspx

Anyway, I wanted to get a decent track pad for my ITR. I thought about Carbotech XP8, which is what I have on my S2000 (XP10/8). For my S2000, they're perfect. I can't say enough good stuff about those pads. The problem I see with those pads is the need to switch back to street pads after the track day...and also the need to buy a dedicated set of rotors.

I also thought about Carbotech Bobcats. They don't need to be removed after track days so I would just leave them on. Would those suffice for a stock ITR with tires (ADVAN AD08 205/50r15)/coilovers/header? Figure about 20-30min sessions for HPDEs.

Would the Carbotech AX6 work for HPDE duty? I would also be leaving those on the car all the time.

I thought about Hawk HP+...but the problem is that Hawks have that corrosive dust. Again, I would just leave those on all the time.

I would assume the same problem as the hawks with Cobalt friction? Or no?

What about PFC? Any decent compounds from them?

A good reccomendation based on experience is what I'm looking for. I would like to just leave the pads on the car all the time since it only weighs 2400-2500lbs and is on stock power and street tires, I figure an "intermediate" pad that does street duty and track duty would suffice. I don't think I need a full race pad...or do I?

Things I do NOT care about are:
-Noise
-Rotor galling

Things I do care about are:
-Cost (somewhat)
-Street friendlyness (Wear when cold)
-Corrosive dust

I am using Endless MX72 pads. Haven't taken them to the track yet, but they work very well when cold and are better than the unidentified Hawks that they replaced.

well...my stock pads work good when they're cold and I'm not sure how they'll do on track. So IDK what that tells me lol.

i don't think you can have it all dood!

either track pads or street pads

i'm using Project Mu pads for both street and track use (B-Force for street, Max500 for track).

i take out my Max500 after track days because i can't stand the noise on street.

however, if cost is a concern for you, perhaps look at something cheaper

I think that for the price of PMU's, I could have a better set of Carbotechs for cheaper. I don't mind spending money...but it has to make sense, that's all.

Honestly, I was hoping that a set of the Rotora pads or a a set of like Carbotech AX6 or Bobcat pads would be enough for the track...because they'll definitely work on the street. I just didn't know if anyone had been using that compound on the track.

I wouldn't mind doing strictly track pads...but I don't wanna have to buy a set of dedicated rotors...and don't wanna have to switch pads out for the street if I don't have to. A 2400-2500lb car with 160-170whp isn't exactly demanding on the brakes. I figure a set of high performance street pads would work. Anyone know otherwise?

Well, the MX72 is intended for both street and track use. It doesn't have corrosive dust. Just giving you another pad to consider.

appreciate it. I'll have to check it out. What is the longevity like on those pads?

I have no idea about the longevity, I've only put ~500 street miles on them, but I can report back later
