Icon2 no compression in 4th cylinder help

about 6 months ago my timing belt broke so i had to have the head of my motor rebuilt. even after rebuilding it my engine light stayed on showing random misfiring in all cylinders yet the car was running fine. the light would blink for a few minutes when i first started my car till it warmed up then it would stop blinking but remained on. i replaced the distributer, plugs and wires, and one sensor, but nothing changed. until just last week i was driving to work and the light remained blinking for about 20minutes and i noticed it was running a bit rough with less power. so i just got the diagnosis done on the computer and it shows 0 compression in my 4th cylinder. the honda dealership says it is either a bent piston or valve but the person who rebuilt the head of the motor says no it must be a seal in the lower block and says i need to replace the lower block now. another thing is every 1000kms i have next to no oil left but its not leaking anywhere i can see. any ideas or suggestions would be a huge help.

My intial thought would be bent valves, but considering you are burning quite a bit of oil, my guess is that the piston ring(s) may have broken on cylinder number 4.

Either the piston rings are toast or the valves are bent.

I would say rings are in peices. One other thing... when you broke your timing belt and damaged your head was any damage done to the #4 cyl. piston or valves? Still sounds like rings though if your using alot of oil

Do a cylinder leak down test and see where its leaking from.. if it is the rings or the piston when you do the test open the oil cap and you should hear air coming out of it.. If its either of the valves listen through the throttle body and the exhaust.. If its a head gasket listen through the radiator.. Well you'd see bubbles.. Any way good luck hope you get your car back on the road

Ditto that.
I am surprised the dealership did not do a leak-down so they could tell you exactly what was wrong. 94

thanks for all the info guys and yes i had damage to all 16 valves and everything in the head of the motor is new as far as i know. i have asked a few people i know who are good mechanics and they all say the same so i am pretty sure it is the rings.

my buddies 3rd cyl also had 0 and it sounded like a subaru. It was bent vlave and had such a gap between valve and head that you could probably stick a penny through. Tore the motor apart and had a buddy we know put in some vlaves.
I recommend, if you have the time/some skill/ patients, to do the job yourself cuz you'll know exactly what has been done to your motor.

That was after a 3rd gear at red line to 2nd gear at 8k rpm . I would do a leakdown test like others have stated. I am sure you could have bough a leak down tester for the price you paid the stealership to diagnose the problem. Googled/youtubed how to do a leak down test. And actually learned something useful and still have some $ left over for movies and other things.
