Icon3 Trans Or Linkage Issues???!!!

i have a 97 civic HX with an LS motor with GS-r trans.. for some odd reason about two days after i started driving it 2nd gear went away..all it does is make a horrible grinding noise and every now and then i can get it into gear. but now i cant get it into first anymore! its doing the samething for first. the trans was purchased off of ebay with reciepts of a total rebuild. theres also alot of play in the shifter itself. Can someone help with this being its my daily!

If it's grinding only in those gears, it's the synchros. If it's a noise all the time in any gears, then I'd suspect the bearings.

i would also suspect synchros. change out your shifter bushings and the shifter itself shouldnt have anymore play in it

Trans needs to come apart, if it's just first and second it wont go into i'd say you've got a bent/broken 1st/2nd shift fork, broken synchro spring or bad sleeve/hub/gear.

Did you let anyone else drive the car without you in it? Off the top of my head, I'd say it was a bad re-build and you should hit up Ebay about a refund/exchange.

Sounds like synchros but as far as shifter play goes check the bitch pin. Make sure its good.

That last post you mentioned indicates a clutch issue.
