trans and shifter ?
have a four door gsr with ls motor and trans that i picked up today, noticed that it still has the gsr shifter and when in gear it moves side to side do you think its that damn pin and i also noticed that the shifts are short aand kinda click into gear could that all be related to that shifter or pin any ideas
The side to side play is due to the bushings on the shift stabelizer bar, and the rear shifter bushings.
Can you describe the the sound any better. Are you sure it is a oe shifter.

its not really a noise but a ruff click not as smooth as it should be and yes im sure its stock i thoughtsince it came from the stock gsr that was in it that i should get a stock one from an ls now the ls motor is in it
Ok. I would jack up the car and have a friend shift it from gear to gear. Check for the linkage binding. It is possible it may be become bent. You should be able to pin point the problem fairly quickley this way I would start with the linkage though.
As to the shift as far as I know all the oe shifters are the same
