i baught a jdm lsd b16 tranny from a fulla for a parts tranny. he told me that the lsd was makin a clicking noice like an axle while turning corners and before he took it out it started to do it ina straight line. also before he took it out he replace the two axles and it still did it. i believe he said he used crappy tire axles and sometimes they click from new. i got it and braught it home and split the case and found that the two diff bearings were ****ed. i took the gears out and jus sat the diff in its place and spun it and the bearings roared like a bastard. i also found the magnet had a bit of filings and a few little peices of metal about the size of the tip of a bic pen on it but everything else looked to be fine. my buddy is a mechanic and he said that the filings would have came from the bearings because they r quite bad. so im wonderin if the bad bearings would make that kinda noice or is the diff actually ****ed. its a clutch type lsd and i counted the teeth on the ring gear and got that its a 4.4 fd. heres a few pics of the diff

Bearings need to be replaced. Filings are from lots of stuff in the trans, sliders are probably worn out. Take the diff apart and inspect the gears and clutch plates. I'd be concerned about the small pieces (bic tip size).
EDIT: 94EG8 I noticed that too. I noticed the speed limit sign appears to be in MPH, I figured since he is in Canada it would be in KM/H.

yes ur right its his diff but the same one, i thought i mentioned that in the first post.
the bearins were real bad, i believe they changed a seal on one side cause the seal is all **** eyed (shoved in to the bearing on one side and out in place on the other) and the bearing face was all shoved in against the bearings and loose so im hopin its a peice of the bearing cage or somethin simple like that.
is it a big job to take the lsd apart and check it over
