I'm looking for info on wiring a 98 civic alternator without the feedback from the computer, I'm going to be swapping it into my 86 accord, i had to move my alternator to the old ac bracket, and the pulley on the civic alternator matches the ac pulley grooves, it's also smaller and lighter then the accord alternator and produces almost the same amperage output, I know how to hook up the blue and white wire to the charge warning circuit, it's just like factory, and i know the yellow and black wire goes to switched power with the key on, but i need to know how to hook up the two wires going to the engine computer, i know on the early crx's this was very easy to do and get rid of the load control feedback, but i'm not sure on this one

I've figured most of it out, the basic honda color codes stay the same from year to year, blue/white is for the idiot light, it switches state depending on whether the alternator is charging, black/yellow is switched ignition with the key on, red/white goes to the ECU,, the one i can't figure out is green/white, I know with the system charging it's not grounded, and is grounded when the alternator senses light load, but what I can't figure out, is if it switches state from ground to positive and back, on most Honda alternators pre OBD 2, that wire goes to constant hot. nothing i can find will tell me if that wire needs to change states or just be grounded or not grounded, if it needs to show positive voltage for the alternator to charge i need to add a relay. does someone with one of these want to do me a favor, run the car with the lights on high beam, and tell me if there's a positive voltage between the green/white wire and ground? this will answer this question for a lot of people

hey does someone know how to decipher the codes on the alternator to tell me the output amps? this one is from a 98 civic, it's the four groove pulley, later on I may swap to an Si type for the 93 amp output, once I know everything is bolted up and lines up, I need to use the correct inline fuse so i need to know it's output
Hmmmm, I have...
White/blue as "Charging System Indicator", [idiot light].
Black/yellow as ign., [hot in run and start].
White as Alt output, to engine bay fuse box.
White/green to ECU/ECM, [alt. output signal] only on US models.
White/red to ECU/ECM, [alt. FR signal].
CDM 98 Civics do not have the ELD, [Electronic Load Detector].
My guess is you do not need the white/red and white/green as they are part of ELD system I think. 94

Sorry it took so long, my boss thinks all you need to do is not connect the white/green, (C) it supplies variable voltage to alt. to limit, [not cut] output from alt. to lessen load on engine, for fuel economy and lower emissions.
Hope that helps and works. 94
